On THE ENRICHMENT HOUR for Sunday, September 28th, my guest for the full hour is DIANA PETERS, founder of a great animal rescue non-profit, Death Row Dog Rescue of Hollywood, Florida. The Enrichment Hour airs live on WSRadio. Click on STUDIO B/Live at show time. Show times are: 1 PM Eastern; 12 Noon Midwest; 11 AM Mountain; and 10 AM Pacific. Starting Tuesday, each Sunday show is permanently archived at this link: wsradio/category/lifestyles/the-enrichment-hour-with-mike-schwager/ To listen to the hour’s show with Diana Peters, scroll down to the four segments for the show, clicking on each arrow for every segment to listen. Every now and then, one meets a person who one just “gets” is living his or her mission. Diana Peters is one such person. This is a lady who not only loves dogs, this is someone with a HUGE heart for animals, someone deeply committed to rescuing and saving the lives of dogs and puppies who otherwise would be euthanized at our animal kill shelters. Since 2009, Diana has saved well over 2200 dogs from certain death. And she’s done it, astonishingly, virtually single-handedly and with the occasional help of good-hearted volunteers. I want to say that Diana is someone who overcomes challenges and obstacles every single day. This is not an easy life she’s chosen, except for the love and joy she receives by saving the lives of unconditionally loving dogs – beings she is convinced are angels come here to love people. When you really get who Diana is, then you understand what Mother Theresa was about, or Florence Nightingale. Diana, in my humble opinion, is the Theresa and Florence of dogs. And talk about commitment? Can you believe that Diana Peters walked in her bare feet across the iron hot coals of Tony Robbins workshop? And NOT once, but dozens of times? That, my friends, is one committed human being!!!! By the way, to learn much more about Diana, just go to her website at: deathrowdogrescuefl. And from her site, you can quickly donate by clicking on the link that will lead you to making a donation via PayPal. Every dollar you donate will go a long way to helping save our wonderful Best Friends, and help them find a loving home!! Our dog and cat population are in a crisis – a crisis that has been going on for years. Their lives are in dire jeopardy, and there are too many shelters like the one in Miami/Dade that can’t handle the large influx of animals that come in each day. In my own view, part of the change that is necessary is a change in their attitude and commitment – to making No-Kill the rule, to running these shelters as adoption facilities rather than disposal facilities. We’ll talk to Diana about this and more during our hour together.--
