Born on this day were Geraldine Ferraro (1935); Mother Teresa (1910); Dorothy Hamill (1956); and comedian Melissa McCarthy (1970) ; and, sadly, Charles Lindbergh (1974); actor Lon Chaney (1930); and Andrew Mellon (1937) died.
