On Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10:24 p.m. Kentucky State Police received a call from Bath County Dispatch requesting assistance in serving a warrant on JB Traylor, 35 of Morehead at his mother’s residence at 282 Old River Road in Midland, Kentucky. Trooper Adam Hall, Trooper Todd Coleman, Bath County Deputy Justin Sutherland, and Deputy Vance Meehan responded to the scene. Upon arrival Mr. Traylor barricaded himself inside the residence and advised he wasn’t coming out. Trooper Bryantt Furman, Sergeant Aaron Martin, Trooper Brad Watson, Captain Brian Bowling, Trooper Nathan Shortridge, Detective Toby Gardner, and Detective David Zimmerman also responded to the scene to assist. It was initially unknown if Mr. Traylor’s girlfriend Daydra Ramey, 25 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and their infant child was in the residence. After further investigation it was confirmed that Ms. Ramey and the infant child was in the residence being held against their will. After numerous hours of negotiations for Mr. Traylor to give himself up, he finally surrendered to Kentucky State Police with no further incident. Mr. Trayor was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a minor, and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO. Mr. Traylor was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail. Incident remains under investigation by Trooper Adam Hall.
