On Tuesday, June 4, Whitewater Girls’ Soccer held the team’s annual awards and recognition night presenting team and conference awards to many. The Varsity program finished the regular season 10-5-1, tying the 2001 record for most wins. The 2013 team finished the season with the program’s best ever winning percentage and most points scored in conference play at 21. Coaches Ajet Dauti and Dan McCrea presented the following team awards: Most Improved Overall to Erin McManaway, Most Improved Defender to Esli Becerra, Most Improved Midfielder to Stephanie Brown. Additional awards for players of the year include Abbey Ramirez for Defender of the Year, Holly Hough for Midfielder of the Year, and Aly Quass for the Forward of the Year. Melani Martinez was presented with the Whippet Award for being a fierce competitor. Morgan Nathan was recognized for a being a four year varsity player. Emily Gildner, Emma Peters, and Morgan Nathan received recognition for being 2013 team captains. Emma Peters was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. The following players were recognized within the Rock Valley Conference: Honorable Mention to Morgan Nathan and Savannah Sun; Second Team All-Conference to Abbey Ramirez and Emma Peters; and First Team All-Conference Honors to Aly Quass.
