On Veterans Day we remember. We remember the sacrifices made by our military service members, both past and present, so that we may know peace. Thomas Jefferson once wrote, I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain. Take a moment out of your day to honor those who served, whether that means personally thanking a Veteran that you know, donating to a charity that aids struggling Veterans, attending a Veterans Day parade, or simply reflecting on the debt that we all owe to those brave few, and recognizing all that has, is, and will be made possible by their actions. Remember, you do not have to agree with the war, to appreciate the warrior. My Grandfathers, W.H. Pimperl, and David Daw, US Army, WWII, Pacific Theater.
