On a national level, Im concerned right now. There is a bill in congress that I thought previously didnt have any legs, but now it does. Its called The Dark Act and basically what it does is PREVENTS state labeling initiatives labeling GMOs from becoming law. Yes, it screws the states. Its about the Feds controlling everything, but not in a good way. Do we want nationwide labeling, YES...but this bill is written and supported by biotech, factory farms, etc...so its not written to label GMOs..its written to create loopholes they can get around. Its very problematic. Republicans are really good at protecting state rights...but with this issue Im a bit concerned. Some may turn because there is LOADS of money behind this bill with Pompeo from Kansas. And heres the irony. Some of the Republican congressman that have supported it publicly dont even understand what they are siding with...because no one from their districts has visited them to tell them!!! This is a matter of only one side talking to them. Do you live in a Republican district? Who is your congressman? The wheels inside my head are turning...
