On behalf of the national Asian American and Pacific Islander community, our national organizations are all strongly supportive of our stance on Immigration Reform in bipartisanship. If you look back at your lineage, you will find that most of your family has migrated to the U.S. including Congressman Heck whose grandfather came from Italy (we spoke about it in a private meeting at his office) I met with Congressman Heck and even spoke at his townhall at Windmill Library about supporting Immigration Reform (for our AAPI entrepreneurs in the technology sectors, economic benefit to the U.S. economy, our business leaders, and our base of constituents in CD3 NV). He said he would NOT vote on it as it passed in the U.S. Senate. Yet, said the opposite at a tech conference for South by Southwest. So which is it? I am confused. Now he is pushing his Republican colleagues to get their act together. To my understanding, usually you would co-sponsor HR-15 (for Immigration) in Congress if you were that supportive like two of his other colleagues. I believe that ACTIONS speak LOUDER than WORDS. Great leadership is about having integrity and delivering on the assurances you make even as an elected member of U.S. Congress. The infamous cliche, practice what you preach. Folks from the districts/states of the 28 pro-citizenship Republicans, it would be great if you could also tweet at your members asking if they will also take action.
