On moreSomewhere in the World throwback . . . Somewhere in the world . . . in the hood. . .during Christmas time, Tanesha is taking a stroll in her neighborhood once again to the candylady house. It is the holiday season and on the way she makes the following observations: 1. While passing Ms. Johnsons house she is astonished by the number of decorations, lights and blowups in the yard. What is puzzling to her, however is why there is a blow up of Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and Tweety Bird overlooking the setup she has of baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph . . .were they present at the birth? 2. Next she passes the Williams house. They are putting up their lights and have seemingly come across a problem. She cant help but overhear Ms. Williams say, Baby, the line is too short and wont make it all the way to the edge! Mr. Johnson replies, Ok . . . this what we bout to do . . . From that point we all know that some duct tape, black tape, scotch tape, Elmers glue, a bread twisty tie, or safety pin will undoubtedly be in the plan . . . 3. Next she passes the new young couple that just moved in, Tasha and Mike. Thing is, they always argue outside . . loud . . very loud. Today as Tanesha passes, she overhears Tasha . . . . .but Im sayin tho, why you give me some blue draws size 4 when clearly you know I wear a size 8 and I hate the color blue? Red is my favorite color! Are you tryna be funny? Mike just walks away . . . 4. Next she passes the Jones house. Grandmama Jones is always fussing bout something. She is standing on the porch in the typical grandma uniform . . . a silk stocking cap, a floral house dress with a red kool-aid stain on the front, and some slides with chicken grease stains . . . Her grandson is getting in the car and she yells to him, . . and boy you better not forget my 6 buckets of chitlins this time! They got to thaw out and I aint gon be up all night with that foolishness! You hear me! 5. Finally, she makes it to the candylady house. As she walks in, so much is going on . . . First she sees Uncle Joe who is in there fussing cause somebody ate the last corner of macaroni and cheese. Then she overhears John and Meesha who are in the corner discussing how they gonna take all their kids old toys they have now and pretend they got stolen. Then they are gonna paint them and re-give the toys to them on Christmas Day. Tanesha shakes her head . . . finally, she goes in the kitchen and gets her candy. As she is walking out, Cindy is braiding Tanyas hair and she overhears Tanya tell Cindy, . . girl yeah . . . and this fool come giving me a pair of red draws size 8 . . I am like WTH!!! I am clearly a size 4 . .and he know blue is my favorite color . . . Tanesha just walks out shaking her head and wonders if she takes a different road home what she will see . . .
