On my 34th birthday, I reflect that at my age my father (who died this past year at 57) was a Fundamental Baptist pastor in a miserable marriage with six children and pastoring full time (while being paid part time by the church) while working full time for a grocery store. I also reflect today on what it means to have grown up in a poor family in a rural area, to have been homeschooled and right of Republican and fundamentalist, to have received no financial support from family with any of my education, to have rejected and been rejected by the church of my birth, to have moved theologically and philosophically and humanly as far as I have so far. With gratitude to the Lord and so many people God has strategically brought me into contact with, I can say I am still curious and I still want to hum a little tune. And I wonder whats coming next! Thank you to my readers for your interest and input. Please stay tuned.
