On my daily walk yesterday, I happened upon GnR Lies while looking - TopicsExpress

On my daily walk yesterday, I happened upon GnR Lies while looking for something to listen to, and quickly was reminded what a great and underrated album it is. Considered just something to assuage the fans waiting for the follow up to Appetite for Destruction, it actually did a great job of showing the true range of the band, well beyond Appetite. I mean it has one of the best rock ballads of all time, controversial songs (One in a Million, that, beyond the character that Axl claimed to be portraying after the lyrics came under fire from just about every socially conscious group of the day), acoustic covers of their own songs, and a host of other good stuff. In a way its similar to Sap by Alice in Chains, in that it gave us a glimpse of whats to come (which, in this case, wasnt just the Use Your Illusion albums, but also the fact that they had a lot of issues, and they werent exactly going to be the most prolific band ever). Regardless, Im glad it returned to my consciousness. First heres a link to what claims to be the Oficial One in a Million Video but is actually the Patience video with a different soundtrack. Tip to guy who made video: If you want to be taken seriously, learn how to spell official. https://youtube/watch?v=xPYe15s6sE8 Heres the actual song performed live at CBGBs in a VERY weird performance from 1988, the year Lies came out.I just saw this today, Need to watch the whole concert. Looks pretty interesting. https://youtube/watch?v=HK31faEcHyM
