On my home today after finishing my first day of college this - TopicsExpress

On my home today after finishing my first day of college this semester, I was counting how much fakkah I have in my pocket, it wasnt enough for the whole trip, and all I had was a solid 100LE note. So at the metro station, I went to one of the ticket booths and I politely asked for fakkah, the dude said no. I went to the other booth and asked, he gave me two 50LE notes (Thank you very much, sir), I asked him to break one of the 50s, but he said he cant and asked me to go to the other booth. I went back to the other booth and I was about to ask, some random girl put 1LE at the booth window and said 3ashan lw mal2ash fakkah, and quickly went on her way, the booth dude grabbed the 1LE as soon as she put it, as a muscle memory reaction I guess. It took me a while to realize what just happened. I said bs ana m3aya tazkara! but I guess she didnt hear, she already went down the stairs. I took the fakkah and the extra ticket and started to cursing at myself for being too slow to make the right move. Why did I just freeze in my place instead of rushing to her and giving her back her money? Was it because I didnt want to make a scene? So f***in what if everybody would look at me if I do that! Why am I such a coward when it comes to grabbing public attention? I felt extremely guilty all the way home, I wish I had given her the money and explained to her that the fakkah I needed was for the microbus I take after the metro, not for the ticket. Whoever you are, lady, thank you for being nice. Im happy to know that theres still such nice people around here..
