On my mind today.... If you walked into my house at around 5, you - TopicsExpress

On my mind today.... If you walked into my house at around 5, you would think you were walking into pandemonium. Having all these kids is barely controlled chaos. There is constantly something insane, loud, annoying, funny, worth learning from, or crazy going on. Patrick Sanders and I were discussing this over the weekend because we are getting older and crankier. Stuff annoys us more than it used to. LOL. Especially the terrible twos. Stryker is about to drive us both insane. Being into EVERYTHING is not an exaggeration. Just so you get an idea about what this child has been up to heres a run down of things hes done in the last week or so: Stripped himself naked 2-3 times a day, crashed my computer twice, dumped my purse and lost some important papers for me, froze the DVD player tray to the open position (dont ask me how) because he climbed up on the TV stand to reach the shelf six feet above the ground, grabbed his sister by the head trying to carry her, froze the XBox, stolen Mavericks Skylanders, dumped the legos all over the floor, hid my Kindle, climbed in his sisters crib to wake her up from her nap, jumped on my stomach and yelled, Wake up, Mommy!, pulled all my laundry off the chair after it was freshly folded, took off a poopy diaper and got it on my carpet, dumped his toy box and put the box on his sisters head, played in the shoes and lost either the left or the right shoe to every pair, lost the batteries out of various electronic devices in the house (he loves batteries), screwed the color up on the TV, got Posessed running on my Kindle scaring the life out of me because of the screaming (I was sure hed locked Bryndlee outside so I went running), got into the 15 egg shells in the trash and scrunched them up on my floor, put catfood in the cats water, carried the cat by her head to the door because he thought she should go outside, had the door open an undetermined amount of time while I fixed breakfast to have a conversation with his dog and causing the temperature in my living room to be just above freezing and nearly giving me a heart attack because Bryndlee was standing on the porch... The list is endless and thats only in the last week. We may not survive this child! Ask Jerrica Leonard, some of those things happened while she was visiting. I cant leave him alone in the living room for five minutes without him doing something crazy! Punishment does not seem to phase this child. Hes upset when he has to stand in the corner, but his sense of adventure and curiosity beat out any fear he has hands down every time. Im so grateful for bedtime most nights, that its a relief. LOL. Patrick and I have decided that we need a decompression evening just to survive this kid. LOL. So we have decided that every Saturday night, after the kids go to bed, we are going to sit down and have dinner together without TV, music, or any other background noise. We did this last Saturday night and it was absolute heaven. I totally recommend it, even for those of you who dont have an entire hoard of demons like we do. LOL. We cant afford to go out to eat, but we can have something special for just the two of us after the heathens are in bed. We can wait till 8:30 to eat. Anyway, those are my random thoughts for the evening. Today Im thankful for 8:30 hard core, never to be deviated from no matter what happens, bed times!
