On my recent China trip, I visited two private shelters (Tangshan and Yellow River) that are run by two groups of young activists. They are all-volunteer organizations and they built their shelters through donations. These two well-run shelters incorporate business models and long-term planning. The organizers have spent a lot of time studying how shelters are run in other countries. Photos shown here are were taken at the Tangshan animal shelter on their Open Adoption Day. I will share more photos about these two shelters later. The animal welfare movement in China is gaining momentum rather fast. With your support, I am sure it will go even faster.
