On my way to St. Louis. Taking old Route 66. Sad, so sad. It feels like an episode of Twilight Zone. All dead and in ruins. Not like I remember it back in 1964. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends...........and some spectacular dogs, of course. Liz will see if she has any herding instinct and if she has good temperament. Harley will be in Veteran Dogs 9 years+. Cant believe that he will be 10 years old in March. He is, without a doubt, my once-in-a-lifetime dog. I rented a Chevy Equinox, as I thought it would be more comfortable than my little Accent, aka: my 500 crate with front-wheel drive, rack and pinion steering! I am not a big Chevy fan, but, this is not a bad vehicle. The ride has been great and Liz and Harley are perfect travelling companions. I have been listening to Robin Cook books on CD, and, this vehicle has XM and I found an ALL ELVIS station....I am in 7th heaven!! Ate dinner from Whataburger tonight. Not bad. I guess it is a Texas thing? Paid $2.99 - 3.15 per gallon for gas in New Mexico. Awesome!! Got to get some sleep and back on the road in the morning.
