On recommendation of Palo Pinto County Fire Marshal Chad Jordan, county commissioners Monday reinstated the countywide burn ban. The burn ban restricts all outdoor burning and use of combustible materials outdoors, including discarding cigarettes or other flammable materials for welding or any other activity that could result in a fire. Fines for violating the burn ban could be as much as $500.
