On the 12th and 13th of April, some of the strongest athletes in Ireland will descend upon the Worx gym in Gorey. They will be competing in the Irish Drugfree powerlifting championships, which are being hosted by the ACE powerlifting club which has its residence in the gym. 240 lifters have entered for this competition with will make this event the biggest powerlifting competition ever held in Ireland. Officials will be arriving from as far away as Belgium to adjudicate This is something the Worx and Gorey should be proud of. Competing from ACE powerlifting and the Worx will be. Orlagh Hall, Brendan Brophy, Emma Dunne, rob o Connor, Paul Holmes, Stephen Kavanagh,mick the refrigerator Chisolm, Rob Duncan and Wayne Cox.. Most of this group have also qualified to represent Ireland in the world championships in June , carrying on a proud tradition of Ace Powerlifters representing their country. All spectators are welcome on both days
