On the Birthday of Guru Gobind Singh JI, let us resolve to fight the evil, unite the Hindus & create an India which will be eternally safe for the Hinds. ---------------------------------------------- Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born as Govind Rai to Guru Teg Bahadur. In the great tradition of saints, Guru Nanak had travelled across India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq etc and enlightened people. Enlightened Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent considerable time lifting people, from Iran & the Middle East, from the Dark Age. Aurangzeb was one of most heinous criminal, a pervert, a tyrant & a heartless killer. He was forcing Hindus to convert to Islam en mass, killing those who refused. He & his army raped girls & women. Guru Teg Bahadur had sacrificed his life for saving Hindus from Forced Religious Conversion. Such was the faith of Hindus in Sanatan Dharma that even fear of death could not force the majority of the people to accept Islam. Several Kings had fought against the Mughals & other Muslim Invaders but most kings had a narrow & selfish outlook. After the death of Chatrapati Shivaji Hindus were becoming weak against the Islamic Terrorists. Guru Gobind’s rise was the main reason why Aurangzeb could not convert most of the Hindu population to Islam. War strategies of Guru Gobind Singh Ji weakened the Muslim rule in India, created awareness among Hindus across the country to resist conversion into Islam and thus Hindus were saved. Other Muslim rulers could not pursue Religious Conversion with the might that earlier Muslim & Mughal rulers had adopted. Arrival of Europeans (Portuguese, Dutch, French & the British) finished the rule of Islamic Rulers significantly. The British noticed the revolution that Guru Gobind Singh had created in India. We are all aware that the British followed the policy of ‘Divide and Rule’. They started convincing the Khasla Chiefs that they were different from Hindus. They craftily created divide between the Hindus & the Khalsa. Slowly, Hindus gave up the policy of giving the eldest son to Khalsa for protection of Hindus & Sanatan Dharma. By 1947, with the help of Gandhi & Nehru, the British successfully created a complete separation of Identity of Khalsa (Sikhs) from Hindus. “Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai sab hain Bhai Bhai” was the slogan promoted by the British. British also destroyed the indigenous Education System, Pride in native heritage & pursuit of Religion. Had People followed Shivaji, Maharana Pratap & Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the degradation of Sanatan Dharma would not have happened. The situation is such that we continue to believe in what the British made us believe. Hemkunt: The Place of the Guru ------------------------------------------- Guru Gobind Singh, in the autobiographical Bachitra Natak tells of his origins. He write that he was the great Hindu Saint Dusht Daman. He describes the place Hemkunt Parbat Sapat Sring, the lake of ice mountain adorned with seven peaks, as the same place where King Pandu, the forefather of the five Pandava brothers of Mahabharata fame, practiced yoga. There, the Guru in his previous incarnation AS Dusht Daman had done intense meditation and austerities until he merged with God. Because his earthly parents had served God, God was pleased with them and gave a commandment that the Guru to be born to them. In the world, he would carry out a mission to teach the true religion and rid people of evil ways. He was reluctant to leave his state of union with the creator, but God compelled him. In this way, the Guru took birth into the world. Why Was The First Son Made A Sikh – By Sanjeev Nayyar ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to volume 7 of the History & Culture of Indian People published by the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan - Disciples of Nanak called themselves Sikhs derived from the Sanskrit word sishya, meaning a learner or a person who takes spiritual lessons from a teacher. The public called them Nanak Panthis or Sikhs. Panth literally means path or way and it has been traditionally used to designate the followers of a particular teacher or of a distinctive range of doctrine”. Singh means devotee. However, today Singh has come to mean Lion & has come to be associated with fighting classes throughout North India esp. in undivided Punjab (modern day Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh). The change was brought about the British.
