On the Disney website, all the Star Wars toys are categorised and nearly all are for boys. Considering that Princess Leia is one of the FEW butt-busting women heroes allowed to BE on the screen, that seems a little narrow, dont you think? But maybe it just didnt fit into the Disney MOLD of what a Princess SHOULD be. I think Disney are a bit behind the times. They are making decisions about what girls and boys like and dont allow the children to decide for themselves. Disney had decided to NOT offer a Princess Leia Star Wars figure as part of its toy collection for the next movie. BUT, this British mum complained on Twitter and it spiraled into a huge online campaign that has this week seen Disney relent and agree and to add Princess Leia toys to its merchandise.
