On the eve of a change in the Democratic landscape, I wanted to share this as I know that changes are coming in the next few months and people need to be aware of individual candidates, not just party affiliation. For Assembly District 3- Hi everyone, I’m a firm believer in researching who it is that you’re voting for. If you have not particularly followed this past year’s events and Bills being put to vote on behalf of our kids, please look at this. THIS is the reason that I, personally, have been firmly behind Lee Zeldin, Al Graf, (Astorino, Croci, Ed Ra, Greg Ball as well). Zeldin/Ball and Graf/Ra had written bills to Stop Common Core. S6604 and it’s Assmebly same-as A8844. In March, A8844 was voted DOWN as an amendment to Cathy Nolan’s empty A8929 which did little else than remove InBloom collection of the datamining. A8844 was going to STOP Cc in it’s tracks, and as you can see from the attached ROLL CALL of votes, it was voted NAY along party lines, just as Speaker Sheldon Silver has instructed. It’s a disgusting truth that things like this still happen, and those elected officials who know better, find themselves advised they cannot vote against party lines, choose to listen. WE MUST get Sheldon Silver OUT of office, but ALSO remove those that voted against the kids. OUR Assemblyman Ed Hennessey VOTED AGAINST A8844, and essentially AGAINST our kids. We have Dean Murray running against Hennessey this year. I want to let you know that I have spoken with him personally regarding his stance on Common Core and was pleased to hear how deep his knowledge is on the issues that we’re facing. He is firmly against Common Core. Here is the Roll Call of A8844, which after this was voted to be held effectively killed in the Education Committee, coincidently Chaired by Cathy Nolan. Its so important to get this info out, BECAUSE this man is pulling some shady things this week. Suing to try and remove Dean from the Stop CC ballot line (despite the fact that hes been in Al Grafs corner fighting it and is so knowledgeable about all aspects) and now this SUPER shady stuff with the car, which Sheldon Silver has inserted himself into the media for. Its really important to go back and get info from throughout the year. NOW everyone is attaching themselves to buzzwords to make themselves appear voter friendly. What I learned about him is that the worst of all, and the shadiest deal hes pulled is this: Although Hennessey voted NO for A8844, he then went back and asked Ed Ra to add him as a sponsor... WHY? Simply because there was a huge backlash from parents. He shows as a sponsor right now, so that anyone that looks at the Assembly page might think him an Ally... a sponsor for an essentially dead Bill, just to save face? Sounds desperate to me. The reason is, if you DO NOT already know the roll call, then you wont. When you look up the bill on the Assembly site, there is no voting history. Anyone JUST looking into this will NOT know that hes shady. BUT NOW THEY DO!!! Please Share with all that you know in 3rd Assembly District - Town of Brookhaven - Hamlets of Bellport, North Bellport, Brookhaven, Medford, Yaphank, Mastic Beach, and parts of Mastic, Shirley, Patchogue, Holtsville, Gordon Heights, Farmingville, Middle Island, and Ridge.
