On the eve of the 16th birthday of my lovely and talented daughter - TopicsExpress

On the eve of the 16th birthday of my lovely and talented daughter Naja, lots of thoughts come to mind. Ill post more on tmrw, the actual bday, and Saturday, the day of the Sweet 16 celebration. But rt now I want to acknowledge the best aunt any child could have, Dalphine Humphrey, my late wife Denise baby (and only surviving) sister. Without Dalphine, I dont know what I would have done these past 10 years. She has been there helping to pick up kids and clothe and feed them, always loving to them. Ive spent a lot of the nearly 10 years since Denises passing, as a single father. But Ive never been alone in the effort. The Humphrey and Lee families in Anderson, my family in Chesterfield(Houghs, Chapmans, Mumfords, and extensions thereof) have encamped around myself and Staden and Naja, and Im very grateful to everyone. Of course God had been the covering of all of it. Some parts of these milestone occasions are bittersweet due to the loss. Thank God for a very supportive village to make the sweet far outweigh the bitter. The grandparents have been spectacular, my mom and dad(Lorine and Emanuel) my in-laws(Robert and Chestine Humphrey) I have a key to my in-laws house in Anderson and I visit as often as time allows. And my wife Jenarda has been kind to the children and very understanding in a way God has to touch and smile upon. Naja and Staden were touched by an angel, and surrounded by others all of this time. Now to celebrate 16 years of Naja Hough.
