On the events in Ferguson: I dont know how the grand jury voted - TopicsExpress

On the events in Ferguson: I dont know how the grand jury voted the way they did, but I do know that a great disservice was done when they released that the chose not to indict Wilson. While I havent done a TON on research, I have seen the photos of Wilson, the videos from eyewitnesses, read a couple of major news outlet releases, as well as Wilsons grand jury testimony. I believe that the holes in Wilsons story and his lack of any injuries consistent with said story are more than enough for there to have been a fair trial. A trial. I dont know what truly happened that day in Ferguson, MO, but I belive that a full trial should be held presenting both a prosecution and defense. I call shame upon Bob McCulloch for his teams presentation of evidence. In his press conference, he presented a defense for Wilson- I can only assume he did the same for the grand jury. He was protecting a police officer from even a POSSIBILITY of being found guilty for the death of Michael Brown and I find that disgusting. I understand protecting one of our own, but when the life of a young man was lost and when the facts dont line up, it sounds like further investigation should be involved. White men are literally getting away with the murder of young black men. This is why people are rioting and protesting this decision. The excuse is always something like, He was out in a black hoody at night, looking suspicious, or, it looked like the candy he was holding was a gun, when too often the white man was mistaken. In this case we only have the white mans side and because of that, we dont know if his story is the truth. Black men are more likely to be shot by police officers and white men without a conviction. People are protesting because of this. I dont necessarily agree with rioting, but something must be done. Twiddling our thumbs and praying for things to get better and fruitless. I want people to know that this is a problem. Black lives matter. There should be a trial for the death of Michael Brown- criminal or not. Mass murderers are brought in unharmed all the time, why cant we do the same for our black criminals? Because there was no trial, Michael Brown only allegedly stole those cigarillos and only allegedly assaulted Wilson. He was given no fair trial and Wilson played his executioner. So, I say DO SOMETHING. Vote, participate in some sort of protest, or even riot! The last of those should be a last resport, but sometimes (as with the Revolutionary War) it is the only option available to us. Do something that will bring true justice to Mike Brown and the countless other that have lost their lives and their killers have reveived no retribution. I wasnt planning to post anything here (Ive been otherwise active on Tumblr and Twitter, though) , but I posted something else, so I felt I should respond.
