On the same night that indigenous leaders, environmentalists and labor activists exposed the green washing of Jerry Browns horrendous environmental policies by the Blue Green Alliance in San Francisco, the Wetlands Defense Fund held a protest and rally against the Annenberg Foundations funding of wetlands destruction under the guise of wetlands restoration. The Annenberg Foundation also dumped money into the corrupt Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) to create fake marine protected areas in California. In one of the most egregious political conflicts of interest in California history, the Southern California process that Annenberg helped fund was chaired by Catherine Reheis-Boyd, President of the Western States Petroleum Association. Shame, shame, shame on Annenberg for funding both wetlands destruction and oil industry lobbyist-overseen marine protection! that doesnt protect the ocean from fracking, oil drilling pollution, military testing, wind and wave energy projects and all human impacts on the ocean other than fishing and gathering. I greatly applaud Marcia Hanscom and other members of the Wetlands Defense Fund for standing up to habitat destruction and green washing!
