On the subject of ART: There are so many ways to express ones creativity. A painter uses a brush and a canvas. A composer uses musical notes, a photographer, a camera. ART is our souls way of connecting and communicating with both ourselves and the outside world. ART is a universal language, which breaks down borders between race, gender, religion, social classes etc.. ART is timeless, it captures emotions and moments and immortalizes them for all of time. ART is that passion which burns deep within our souls and often can be so very healing and cathartic in the process of creating. What is my ART? I use a pen and a notebook, then a microphone, camera, editing suite etc. I am a POET though I vowed years ago that I would always strive to share my work in more non conventional and find new and creative ways. Thats where the actress and filmmaker come into play. Combining all my passions into one big witchs brew of ART, passion and emotion. My goal is to bring my poetry to life so my words can jump off the page and touch and provoke all the senses and to even whisper to a few souls! And also to make poetry more accessible, especially to those who think they hate poetry! I try to prove them wrong, though I dont always succeed! lol The objective for any artist is to express ones self through which ever artform resonates with them. For me, its my Prozac and the reason I share it is because sometimes, it can be someone elses Prozac as well and for an artist that is a truly amazing feeling, to know that their work resonated with someone else. ART is subjective, not everyone will love what you create which is why you have to do it for yourself, from the heart, unconditionally with no expectations or concerns of what others may or may not think and or like - Be true to yourself. Do it because you love it and not because you need others to. So heres to ART! Express yourself! Let that creativity flow through you and shine like a beacon! And on that note. Heres a little something I just threw together with some artsy stuff I had lying around the house! Its no Picasso but its from the heart. Words Unheard is from the sound track of my film Let Them Eat, on the subject of watching love walk away and being powerless to stop it from leaving... so not the most uplifting and joyous track Ive done but not all ART is meant to be joyous. Some ART reaches deep within the chambers of our hearts and unleashing that which hurts the most. A cleansing if you will. Hope you enjoy it. Love to All
