On this National Day, I hope my fellow Singaporeans look forward to new challenges, not just back at how great weve become. Todays problems are everyones, not just the faceless others who werent lucky enough to share the same boat with us. I hope the young can afford a roof over their heads, the old have enough to retire with dignity. I think we can have great public transport that is better than in many other countries, but it needs work now. Hospitals too have to take care of the needy, not just the wealthy. We have to take care of, and be gracious to, vulnerable foreign workers in our midst, whose sweat and toil also help make our country work. Most importantly, I just wish future generations will be able to pursue their dreams, like how Ive chased mine. Im grateful. Happy National Day!
