On this day 13 years ago my life changed. I was awakening from a druken haze caused by a 21st bday celebration, by a very concerned sister of mine. She turned on my tv just as the second plane hit the twin towers, I wasnt sure what I was watching. Turns out I was watching my life changing before my own eyes. Since that fateful day Ive served 18 months in combat, 6 months on active duty at o hare, lost a comrade in battle, injured my boby to the point of disability, learned that I have ptsd. This all seems to be bad, but in my eyes these things have had positive effects on my life. I enjoy my freedom, and no one can take it from me! So today remember not only those who lost thier lives in the attacks, those who gave thier lives in battle, but also remember that you are still free.
