On this day, 5 centuries less 4 years ago, October 31, 1517, a yet unknown local audacious Priest, Martin Luther, nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church at Wittenberg, Germany. This ordinary and unremarkable date became peerless in reformed circles as it brought forth a most noble protest the defense of Pauls dictum, in his great treatise to the Roman Church: Salvation by faith alone. The protest unleashed a chain of events that broke the back of the potent, mighty Church of Rome to unleash the gospel taught in the Bible. 5 monumental Solae was the reformers 5 pillars of Christianity. Solae is only or alone in English. Faith alone with no other, Grace, Christ, God and Scripture as first, only and end in matters of Christian faith. May this reformation of the true gospel continue in our day to the glory of Christ alone.
