On this day in 1914, US President Woodrow Wilson declared the first Mothers day holiday in a Presidential Proclamation! This then spread to the rest of the world, much of them enforced by colonial regimes, although many later appropriated this American government sanctioned day, the origins are quite clear!! Happy celebrating a western imperialist government created day .. Im sure being socially obligated to do something one day of the year, is really as genuine and meaningful as doing it of your own free will, with no social obligation!! But ill stop pissing on your sheep parade!! ;)
