On this day in 1938: MGM recording session for The Wizard of Oz consisted of work on The Merry Old Land Of Oz. Also on this day, Margaret Hamilton (as the Wicked Witch of the West) was severely burned when filming her exit from Munchkinland in that blaze of fire and smoke. She would not be able to return to the production until mid February 1939.
