On this day in 1952, Hall of Fame golfer Arnold Blum won the Georgia Amateur Championship golf tournament held at the Augusta Country Club in Augusta, Georgia. In the tournament, Blum, a native of Macon, Georgia, edged-out runner-up Alfred Gallagher to secure his third consecutive win in the championship. After securing his fourth overall state amateur title (1946, 1950, 1951, & 1952), Blum went on to capture a then-record fifth Gerogia Amateur Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in 1956.
