On this day in 1963: Videotaping of both the dress rehearsal (5:30 - 7 p.m.) and the final performance (9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) of Episode Eleven of The Judy Garland Show at CBS Television City, Stage 43, Hollywood, CA. Judys guests were: Steve Allen and Mel Torme. Judys songs included: This Could Be The Start Of Something Big; Be M Guest (with Allen and Torme); Heres That Rainy Day; Sophie [Tucker] medley (with Allen); The Partys Over (with Torme); Songwriter medley (with Allen and Torme). In the Born in a Trunk spot, Judy sang Island In The West Indies; Through The Years and Maybe Ill Come Back. Judy had privately stated the Through The Years was her favorite song. This performance is certainly one of the best of her career. Judy also taped a Tea For Two segment with Steve Allens wife, Jayne Meadows.
