A Hall of Famer and defensive tackle of the Kansas City Chiefs, who retired his #86. 1942- in Game 2 at Forbes Field, in the Colored World Series, with two outs, pitcher Satchel Paige of the Kansas City Monarchs deliberately walks the bases loaded in order to face and strike out the most feared slugger in black baseball, Josh Gibson of the Homestead Grays, taunting him as he did. KC wins 8-4. 1969- The Kansas City Royals used 27 players in a game at California, a Major League record at the time.
