On this day of giving thanks I was told of the speech that our first President gave in 1789, declaring this a day to give thanks to the Almighty God for His provisions and protection; please look up this speech and contemplate the massive changes our leaders have allowed/encouraged in these past 224 years...if your heart is not both broken and encouraged at the work the Holy Spirit needs and can to do through our lives, then maybe you need to own some of why we are now a failing country. I adore my God and love my country, but realized my complacency with this easy life we are given here. Lord, forgive me and convict me deeply to be more obedient and active in serving you and helping to stand for the CORE of American Christian values!
