On this day of remembrance for U.S. President John F. Kennedy, we ask you to join us in celebrating his pioneering work to help people with intellectual disabilities, highlighted in the short film Life in the Shadows. In the 1960s, our population was most often condemned to institutions that offered no education; instead, they found isolation and despair. President Kennedy demanded that this be changed, and acted to change it. The film is narrated by President Kennedys sister, and Special Olympics founder, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
