On this special day in the year 1909,a great man by name Francis Nwia Kofi Ngoloma and later changed to Kwame Nkrumah appeared on the planet Earth at Nkroful. Nkrumah by then work relentlessly to put his country Ghana and his continent Africa on the map, this man spearheaded the attainment of democracy in Ghana at the peril of his life. This man at the time turned the fortunes of this country to a highly industrialized country and goods that are consumed at the time are produced locally, the devine intervention of Kofi Ngoloma saw the existence of the Akosombo dam which is our source of electricity today. One interesting thing about this man is that, he was a teacher for five years through which he was able to save money and continue his education outside Ghana, one question I will ask is can a teacher in this modern day Ghana studies outside the country? I know for a fact that wherever this man might be his ghost must be weeping by now because his toil over the years has finally been submerged. Ghana that was producing goods locally is now importing almost everything including toothpick, the dam which was built some three decades ago, has not been expanded meanwhile the population today has increased tremendously,what Ghana can boast of is high standard of living and the sky rocketing of corruption and erratic power supply , Hmmmm we have reached a stage where citizens prefer foreign goods to that of made in Ghana goods and the worst of all is some of our ladies feel shy to be Africans and go by adopting a white mans culture, it has now become apparently difficult to differentiate between a Ghanaian lady and some statues in our shopping malls just in the name of make ups, the pan Africanism championed by Nkrumah has lost its credibility Hmmmm
