Once again Sarah Palin is at the heart of controversy—this time - TopicsExpress

Once again Sarah Palin is at the heart of controversy—this time for a few choice passages in her new book America by Heart. In the book, the former governor of Alaska gives some sharp criticisms of First Lady Michelle Obama. In one passage, Palin addresses the President’s tendency to use racism as an excuse for his unpopularity claiming that Obama “seems to believe” that “America—at least America as it currently exists—is a fundamentally unjust and unequal country.” In another passage, she comments on similar comments made from the First Lady, “She said during the 2008 campaign that she never felt proud of her country until her husband started winning elections. In retrospect, I guess this shouldn’t surprise us, since both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church, listening to his rants against America and white people.” She continues to discuss the couples’ apparent lack of pride in America, asking, “Haven’t they met anybody in uniform yet?” Palin then describes the own pride she feels when she sees a young man or young woman standing for our country. Palin is not all negative though. She does acknowledge that our country has been making progress—no thanks to the Obamas, but because people are frustrated and “hungry for change.” What do you think? Is Palin being criticized for telling the blatant truth?
