Once again, the storm chances have been increased to 50% for today. The worst of the severe storms are expected to be in northeastern Kentucky where a moderate risk area is in place. The main thing that worries me about western Kentucky is the fact that skies are mostly clear and we are getting a lot of sunshine. This will increase storm intensity and formation. While Im not too concerned with the severe threat...we cant ignore it either. Already, a storm or two is forming along the Ohio River. If this continues, I would not be surprised to see a squall line form as the front pushes south and east. Everyone should keep an eye on the weather...especially this afternoon since any storms that form could be intense. Damaging winds are the main threat but an isolated tornado cant be ruled out. The front should be through by early evening, ending the severe threat.
