Once again we were invited by Alain and Isabelle Noellat to join the harvest lunch during the vendages. Their harvest runs for around 10 days and, depending, on workload means feeding between 40 and 80 pickers. Lunch is a four-course meal of starter, mains, cheese and desert and their is also an evening meal to prepare for round 30-40. As every winewgrower knows the harvest is a hugely stressful time not only in the work in picking the grapes, sorting and winemaking but also in managing and feeding a mixed crew of people over 10 days - oh, and then there is the massive paperwork load to deal with. We are literally in awe of every grower as they work through this exhausting time of year.
