Once the English Government and the Labour party (et al) calm down - TopicsExpress

Once the English Government and the Labour party (et al) calm down after their pointless campaign to tell Scotland to do as they are told. Can we get a Government (who have failed to do this for decades) make St Georges Day a Bank Holiday. Or am I asking a lot? It does not seem fair that St Patricks Day (17th March) is a day of merriment for the Irish. They go to the Races (ironically over here at the Cheltenham Festival) or other sporting events in dear old Erin and drink copious amount of Guinness which tops up their economy. Meanwhile, over here, on 23rd April, which to the many unwashed is actually St Georges Day, everyone is still forced to work - those who still have jobs - and iso t is not a recognised family day. I once wrote a letter to my local Member of Parliament. Andrew Plebgate Mitchell. Yes him !! and I was fobbed off with an answer that he skillfully skated around the question. So, after this effort by the powers to be north of the border they could have won over the hearts and minds of those that still claim an English heritage in this country - and at the same time - score points off UKIP by making St Georges Day special. However, Cameron and his merry men are so blind they would not see that. Some former Eastern block countries have more Bank Holidays than England has.
