Once you get past Neal Karlens disgruntled attitude toward Rolling Stone, and his early attempt at being Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, this book really becomes good. Lots of observations about life in the minor leagues and the Dream of playing in the Show. Karlen does have an odd habit of changing tenses from past to present in midstream, but overall, Id recommend this as one of the better, more quirky, baseball books Ive read in a long time.
