Ondo State speaker urges electorate to shun violence The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Mrs Jumoke Akindele, on Monday in Akure urged the electorate to shun violence and embrace peace during and after the Osun governorship election on Aug. 9. Akindele made the call during a prayer session organised for peace to reign during the governorship poll in Osun. She prayed for continued peace in Osun and the nation at large, while condemning electoral violence. Akindele also called on religious leaders to pray fervently for the nation’s success in its efforts to overcome the current challenges. ``We all need to pray for our political leaders so that the nation can continue to move forward,’’ the speaker said. The lawmaker also expressed belief in the efficacy of prayers, urging religious faithful to pray for the release of the Chibok schoolgirls. She solicited the cooperation of workers in the assembly as the lawmakers carried out their legislative duties
