One birthday celebrations, two birthday cakes, rich chocolate mud cake and a mousy lemon cheese cake and heaps of delicious thick icing cupcakes and gingerbread men! For those who may not know, two of my kids share the same birthday. Coincidentally my water bag broke at 0415hr on Aug 17, seven years apart!!!!! Needless to say, each year it is a double celebrations in our household.....courtesy of Brigid and Connor. Yesterdays celebration wouldnt have happened without kids father, Steve, step mum ( Annalize, thank you for the awesome birthday cakes), Owen ( my middle child, my eldest, kindest and very often misunderstood son ) auntie Deb, nana, granddad, Miffy ( helping me in shredding the carrots ) , auntie Janette Earnshaw, Thomas ( great leadership in keeping the nerf guns game running smoothly ), David ( my partner, who missed out on the party due to work but made it up with reading through all complex instructions on Connors birthday presents, buying loads of batteries for all electronic gadgets and playing laser tag with Connor) Finally, I am grateful for the blessings and love from my parents and sister whose love are from a distance but unconditional. Lastly, no one ever say blended family is easy. The choice has to come from self to make it possible.
