One day I want to travel. My first stop would be Europe.. Im so interested in the way of life there. Whether its in Rome or Italy Time seems to be used so differently than it is here in our neck of the woods. For instance if you dont get lunch by 2pm your pretty much out of luck finding an open restaurant until 7pm for dinner ..... they just simply close and get ready as well as relax and rejuvenate for the evening. In my readings and asking questions I learned that its nearly impossible to even get a to go cup of coffee. This is almost frowned on. I read this experience in a blog. When I asked last summer at a casual plaza café in Croatia if I could get an impulsive espresso to go, not wanting to hold up my fellow travelers, the barista made a studied appraisal of me and asked, “Madame, are you really in so much of a hurry?” I tried to explain about delaying my companions, and he said simply, ‘They will wait.” They would, in Croatia. They would sit down together, and chat, and not be in such a rush. Doesnt that just sound nice???? I dont know what it is but sometimes I feel like I crave culture. Its hard for me to explain. I just stop sometimes & look around at everything here in America. Big cars, big flat screens, big refrigerators & and extra freezer packed full of food.... Wheres the culture in all that material I have more than you crap? Im not saying EVERYONE lives like this & Im just as guilty as most.. I would just love a change. Id love to walk down to a farmers market & buy fresh food for dinner that night, Id love to feel like I wouldnt be an outcast if I didnt have 3 flat screens, a coach purse and 5 North faces. I stop & think of how Ive been influenced & molded into what I am or Ill say how I live and it makes me want to make changes.. Changes that actually matter. This may be all over the place... Not making much sense but hopefully you get my point! Signing off hoping to fall asleep!
