One drunken imbeciles poorly recorded thoughts: The first song is called Somewhere Outside My Window by yours truly. (Spoiler Alert: its just me...) The second song is The Pilgrim, Chapter 33 by Kris Kristoferson, a tune which means more to me than life. Somewhere Outside My Window: Today I think about the way I never think about you, It’s been a long ol’ time. It slipped away an disappeared somewhere inside my memory, These crazy dreams of mine. I never needed you anyway, I’m not sorry that you’re gone. Should we meet again some other day, I will still sing you a song. I lay my head back down upon my pillow and I wonder Who are you supposed to be? A little girl against the world bowed down and took for granted, Did you ever make it free? You never needed me anyway, And you’re not sorry that I’m gone. Should we meet again some other day, Won’t you join me in this song? Somewhere outside my window, down the road this side of nowhere, Another day is passing by. To me it goes unnoticed, quite unnatural an unknown, I won’t open up my eyes. I never offered you a perfect world, You never gave me a reply. Out on that highway or the spaces in-between We’ll meet together you and I. The night grows deathly quiet with the shadows darkly dreaming, The very stars are dead. The Devil’s at my should smiling, singin Charley Daniels, He know he’s streets ahead. They never offered us a perfect world. We never gave them a reply. When we run out of highways and whatever’s in-between We’ll sing together by an by, By an’ by! We’ll live forever you and I!
