One fact that we did learn in Newbridge today is that RTE and the Irish Media are puppets for the Irish Government . The whole reporting of what the media say happened at Newbridge Credit Union was biased and makes Newbridge and its people look bad. THIS IS WRONG and Mis-representation of the facts. Sinn Féin witnessed six men and women from our local Newbridge Community, part of the Save Our Credit Union group, tell the assembled media at Ryston that they totally refute what the Central Bank are saying about Newbridge Credit Union. Sinn Féin has utmost faith in what the people of Newbridge say..... not what the Central Bank tells us. Dont forget these bankers are the same people who lied to the Irish citizens to get us to bail them out with the Bank Guarantee,,,they have no creditability....the people of Newbridge, the people you meet in the street each day do. Who are you going to believe the Central Bank or the people of Newbridge? You may also want to take into account who benefits most from the closure of Newbridge Credit Union.......The banks or the people of Newbridge?? Please take time to ask questions about what is happening at Newbridge from people that you know in your own community. Regarding the 3.2 million loan that is been bandied about.......Save Newbridge Union answered this question at the press conference today and said that the loan is not a bad debt and is currently being serviced and had full authority from the Central Bank to be issued. This was not reported by RTE in their report instead they showed a FG member disrupting the Press Conference with accusations. Martin Heydon was then interviewed and said he would make every effort to ensure that a new credit union would open in Newbridge....this is fairytale stuff and only said so that FG can get their candidates elected at Local Elections in May 2014. Also ask yourself why all this was done behind closed doors...so the banks could spin any story that they wanted. No transparency and discredit anybody who said different. We know what happened the night of the Bank Guarantee that sold our economic sovereignty to berlin. Have we not learned that there is a rat in the room when business is conducted late at night behind closed doors?? The Government had said that Newbridge Credit Union was an isolated case.....a headline in The Irish Times tomorrow now states that 100 credit unions will be closed. People wake up and smell the coffee....whats happening is that the Banks are taking over the Credit Unions to do away with the competition and bolster their own Balance Sheets with the assets of Credit Unions. We leave you with one simple thought to help you make up your mind.....are you going to believe what the Central Bank is telling you- or are you going to believe people from your own local community?? Why would six people from our town stand in front of the National Media today and say what the Central Bank is telling us is lies?? Why would they stand over something if its rotten?? They have nothing to gain but embarrassment if they are wrong. Sinn Féin believes what they are saying is RIGHT and that the Central Bank is WRONG. We will continue to support them in their fight to save credit union. People of Newbridge its time to stand up and fight and support your own!! Dont believe the whispers and propaganda being bandied about to run down our Credit Union......find out the facts from people you trust.....your own community not the Central Bank.
