One last tool/technique of the trade I want to mention for this week. Me. Authentic, genunie, real me. Many clients have told me Im easy for them to talk to because Im relaxed, open, and non-judgmental. As a humanist, I bring myself into the room as a real person. I dont hold myself out as an expert but rather part of a clients treatment team. The partnership of client and therapist is powerful. And within that therapeutic alliance, clients can feel empowered to reach goals, heal, and grow. Never underestimate the power of relationship.
