One more day at the office, then its off on a weeks vacation! Seattle and Portland, the former because Ive never been there, the latter because its the location of the Dal National. This year Im wearing my judges hat, so Jess and I are traveling without dogs. Ill miss a lot of the fun this year, at least until after the judging is over, but am really looking forward to seeing the dogs. Am a bit concerned about being gone for a week, leaving behind elderly family and dogs, but I really need a vacation! Ive only missed 3 Nationals since 1973, and had at least one dog entered in all but 3 of those, twice to judge and once just spectating. It will seem very strange to be attending without dogs!
