One morning, i woke up after a long comfortable sleep, i headed to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee, i usually make it with extra sugar;almost two half-filled tea spoons and two hills of fine ground Brazilian coffee , i wasnt totally focused this time, i added salt instead of sugar and stirred thoroughly like i always do. I was looking forward to having this cup as i had a ruthless terrible night before. Once i tasted it, i gagged, almost threw up. It tasted so bad, but i noticed something, the salt predominated over the coffee. My combination always make coffee predominates over sugar which makes the best cup of coffee according to me. Salt beat them both. Aside from the physiological explanation for that, salt is strong, salt speaks of itself, more than bitterness or sweetness. Salt expresses itself loudly in nature. Salt is the product of collaboration, mutualism, sharing, covalent-bonding between two different elements of the periodic table. Salt experiences tough time being dissolved accepting changing its physical state, yet never backs off on what it is, it always speaks of its nature, identity. Salt also has hard times undergoing extraction, witnessing breaking bonds with its solute, and being left alone as a precipitate at the bottom of the container after being abondoned; alone yet ruthless. It comes in different formulas- but not different forms- to serve the same goal. Sweetness describes whatever stimulates its pathway, it could be sugar, honey, etcetera, and so does bitterness. But only saltiness describes salt. It is naturally unique like a black horse, like an uncomprehended constellation. If you asked what salt represents to me, i would answer with one word; Distinction. So, do you think physiology follow nature? Or do they integrate one another? P.S. This incident happened to me more than one month ago, whereas this thinking process stroke me two hours ago. #sleepless_nights #stress_times #seeking_redemption
