One of my favorite Christmas specials as a child in the - TopicsExpress

One of my favorite Christmas specials as a child in the late-1960s, early-1970s is another Rankin-Bass stop-motion cartoon production that didnt originally air until December 1968. It was also NBC-TVs first foray into having a Rankin-Bass production on their schedule for the holidays (the previous Rankin-Bass productions only appeared on CBS or ABC, with unfortunately made the execs at NBC very disappointed since they were in color and NBC was suppose to be the color network owned by RCA and having the peacock, definitely one of NBCs biggest disappoints up until this special first aired in 1968 was not having a Rankin-Bass production of their own and unfortunately NBC was not to have another after this one.) This Rankin-Bass production would also not be seen as much as the others for its rather preachiness regarding the thought of pure love and its biblical connotations. Although Im thrilled that someone on youtube has saved the portion of this special on video that does not contain the later added ABC Family ident as well as having it posted the way it aired on NBC back in 1968 into the early 1970s without the NBC ident, either, and this is the portion that contains my favorite version of the Classic Christmas song, Little Drummer Boy of all time:
