One of my favorite Ravi Shankar ji compositions, aptly set to images taken by Hubble Space Telescope, in particular, my favorite one of all- the ultra-deep field. This is one of the most important photos (if not THE most important one) ever taken. Every speck you see there isnt a star, but a galaxy. The camera was aimed at the emptiest region in space where there are no visible stars or intergalactic bodies, it took weeks of pointing in that direction to develop the image, but what they found took the world by surprise. In the dark spot spot tinnier than holding a penny at arms length, they found over hundreds of thousands of galaxies, many of which date back close to the manifestation of the universe (note, I do not use the word creation). All in all, it has been extrapolated that there are over 250 billion galaxies in the viewable universe (and perhaps countless more beyond). Each galaxy (say like our milky way) holds over 100,000 stars. Each star may be a solar system with habitable planets orbiting them. Sarvam khalvidam brahman :) Anyway, enjoy the pictures and the music. youtube/watch?v=N8ocTblNQH4
