One of my favorite memories was being a background actor on Patch Adams when they filmed in Chapel Hill. Robin Williams would come over entertain us between takes. He provided so many magical movie moments from his quips as the Genie in Aladdin, his heartfelt humor as Mrs. Doubtfire, his quick wit as DJ Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning Vietnam, his wild imagination on full display in search of The Fisher King, and his manic energy abound in The Birdcage to name a few. As much as I love his Oscar winning turn in Good Will Hunting as well as his underrated performance in Awakenings, I will always treasure him the most as Mr. Keating.
